The King Prawn
Restaurant

Visitors discover
with delight.
Set within the manor's original dining hall, two open fireplaces lend the room a warmth that is as much about atmosphere as temperature. The handcrafted wooden furniture, set with black napkins and a single fresh flower at each table, establishes the tone before the menu has been opened.
Celebrated for its Chinese cuisine — a culinary tradition at the heart of the menu since the restaurant first opened — the same kitchen extends its range to Western classics, authentic Sri Lankan dishes, Indian cuisine, and a carefully chosen selection of Middle Eastern fare.

High Tea
on the Lawn
"A properly brewed pot of Ceylon, the garden in full colour, and the last unhurried hour of the afternoon."
Each afternoon, as the light softens across the rose garden, tea is laid on the lawn with a precision and care that has changed very little since the hotel first opened. Finger sandwiches prepared to order. Warm scones with accompaniments. A selection of Sri Lanka's finest single-estate teas.
High tea at Glendower is, by the account of guests who have taken it across the island, among the finest available in Nuwara Eliya.
